Individual GO TRI
If you have been thinking about giving swim, bike, run a go, then GO TRI is the event for you! With accessible distances perfect for first-timers, and awesome volunteers to help you throughout the day, you can have a go at triathlon in a fun and relaxed environment that supports you to complete the distances. The GO TRI event will take place on Saturday 5 June 2021 in and around Roundhay Park, including the same iconic blue carpet finish as the elite and para elite athletes.
You'll begin with a 200m swim in Roundhay Park’s Waterloo Lake, before taking on a 10km cycle in and around the park. Don’t worry if you’re nervous on a bike, all roads will be free of cars and you can ride at whatever pace suits you. You'll finish your event with a picturesque 2.5km run or walk, where you’ll be cheered all the way to the finish line by other participants and volunteers alike.
The GO TRI route for the AJ Bell 2021 World Triathlon Leeds will be available soon.
Who can take part?
You must be 15 or over to take part (use your age on 31 Dec 2021). GO TRI is open to anybody, and is especially aimed at those new to the sport. It is compulsory to wear a wetsuit and you will need a roadworthy bike, this doesn’t need to be a fancy one though! You can get advice on hiring both a wetsuit and a bike from the event organisers if you need to.
