Roundhay Park access information

From Saturday 30th May, there will be members of the event management team on site to begin the build of specific items required for the event.  The park will remain fully open during this time but small areas may be fenced to allow the build to take place safely.

On Friday 4th June from 10:00 until 11:00 there will be elite paratriathletes familiarisation of the route within the park and therefore some of the paths around the park will be in use for the event at this time.  Please remain vigilant of athletes using bikes and wheelchairs in the park during this time.

The designated space in the park required to host the event will not be accessible without a spectator ticket (cream shaded area in the map below).  This event space will be closed from 00:01 on Saturday 5th June until 19:00 on Sunday 6th June.  There will still be some public access to the park during this time but this is a very limited area which can be seen below in the green shaded area.

If you do still need to visit Roundhay Park during the above times on Saturday and Sunday, then pedestrian access will be available via the entrances at Park Lane, Mansion Lane and Wetherby Road.

At 19:00 on Saturday 5th June, Soldier’s Field and the playing fields adjacent to Princes Avenuewill be accessible to the public from Princes Avenue and Park Avenue until 04:00 on Sunday 6thJune but the rest of the event space in the park detailed on the map will remain closed.

Parking will be available on Soldier’s Field on Friday 4th, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th June (blue shaded area in the map above). Access to this car park will be from Old Park Road. The following car parks will be closed to the public at the specified times:

Mansion Lane – Thursday 3rd June from 00:01 until 12:00 on Monday 7th June

Princes Avenue – Thursday 3rd  June from 12:00 until 20:30 on Sunday 6th June

Lakeside - Thursday 3rd June from 07:00 until 07:00 on  Monday 7th June

The Wetherby Road car park will remain open throughout but there will be no access to it by car during the Wetherby Road closures on Friday morning (09:30 – 11:00) and Saturday afternoon (13:00 – 17:00). Drivers will be able to leave the car park during these times but will be directed towards Easterly Road.

Due to Covid restrictions, the event space within Roundhay Park is limited to a maximum of 4000 people which includes athletes, officials and spectators and therefore spectator tickets are likely to sell-out quickly.

If you can, we’d encourage you to visit one of Leeds’ other fantastic parks instead during the weekend of the event.
